Shepherding in the House of God

Any leadership call in the house of God has an element of shepherding. Why? Because both God and Jesus identify Themselves that way (Psalms 23:1-6 “The Lord is my Shepherd,” John 10:1-18 “I am the Good Shepherd”).

Over the past 50-60 years, the church growth movement, while bringing some good things to the body of Christ, has also had its downside, especially regarding leadership.  It has resulted in a whole leadership industry with a CEO, mega church, mega leader mentality.

God has designed leadership in His House to be like a family of shepherds (which was often the way natural shepherds operated in the Biblical word), moms, and dads who care for and guide His family flock.
