TomOver the past 8 months the leaders across the C2C family have been sensing some important goals in God to pursue together during the next few years.  They have to do with expansion.  As God’s family together on God’s mission the call to “be fruitful, multiply, and fill” was, and continues to be His mandate for His family (Gen 1:26-28; Eph 1:22-23 MSG  He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church.  23  The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.).

A couple of points of agreement we have arrived at articulate this emphasis for expansion and are important goals we have across the family.

We have agreed to extension through mission and breakthrough.

We have agreed to emphasize, equip, and release supernatural life in our churches and regions.

As Jesus told us, extension and expansion through mission and breakthrough immediately brings us into spiritual warfare Mat 16:18 MSG…You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together (build) my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.

Why such warfare?  As His family expands more of the enemies ground is taken back and his work dislodged.   A natural  parallel was the invasion of France on D-Day during World War II.  The fighting was fierce because the enemy held the ground and the allies were expanding to dislodge him.  The same is true spiritually.

During the fall conference Tom Bedford spoke an excellent message regarding expansion and the gospel.  Recently he did a part 2 of that message in Pittsburg KS titled “The River Is Changing Course.”  He speaks of the tensions in local churches that come during expansion and how we have to walk in them to continue to go forward.  This is a prophetic message for all the C2C family and you can listen to it following the link below.
